The history of the world has been studied by many a historian and been a major focus of many religions. While recent history is well documented, most of history is a diffuse array of lacklustre sources and disputed events. Recent history is commonly split up into distinct eras, defined by major events both economic and cultural.

Era of industrialisation

  • 1865: The world's first functional and programmable computer is invented in Tekkea.
  • 1858: Armed conflicts in Tekkea take place, with one side being appalled and furious of the country's wars--and particularly its nuclear detonation--and the other defending the wars, and opposing the surrender. This escalates into a short-lasting civil war; after just a few months, much of the fighting fizzles out, and Tekkean nationalists have no choice but to surrender. This births the new nation of Tekkea, and soon after the military is constitutionally decided to only be for self-defence. Later the same year, a nation-wide ban on possession of firearms is passed. Countless firearms are seized and promptly destroyed; even firearms from military supplies are dismantled.
  • 1857: Tekkea completes the first atomic bomb and detonates it in a desert village outside Langenthal City. The blast is so powerful it's seen all the way from Yōkoma, terrifying both Tekkeans and Radosicus alike. Infighting immediately ensues, as Tekkean forces quickly disagree on how to deal with the discovery; many high-ranking individuals wish to press the advantage they've just gained, but the majority saw no other option but to offer an unconditional surrender. An attempted military coup ensues, which is narrowly avoided. Right after, Tekkea offers their surrender and gives up Langenthal City under the one condition that Radosis helps them destroy the facility and all its contained knowledge. Radosis accepts right away, and the two nations swear to prevent this weapon from being used again. This becomes The Atomic Council. Tekkea forces Sas to join the council at the end of the year. The idea of using the nuclear process to create energy in a controlled environment is not considered possible at this time.
  • 1856: Radosis takes the remains of Riverstart. The same year, Tekkean forces retake the city, only for it to be lost to Radosis again, and for Tekkea to retake it once more. This repeats several times, with the city having been traded 7 times by the end of the year.
  • 1855: Tekkea marches in to take what is left of Langenthal City. Local Sas forces commit a brutal last stand, attempting to destroy the city before it's taken. Soon after Sas is forced into surrender. Remaining Tekkean troops soon find an underground manufacturing plant for nuclear weapons under the city, and continues the development.
  • 1854: Tekkea demands the surrender of Langenthal City, but Sas refuses. Tekkea proceeds to bomb the city with a focus on its industrial areas, severely crippling the city's oil supply and under-construction nucler power plant. In return, Sas uses their remaining planes to bomb Shūhen Yoka. Sas pleads for Radosis to join their cause, but are refused.
  • 1853: Sas declars war and attempts to lay siege to Riverend. In retaliation, Tekkean forces use bomber planes for the first time to bomb Riverstart. Sas then attacks Shōkoma and Shūhen Yoka in a combined air and ground assault but are repelled. Tekkean forces retaliate by attacking Choppington in a combined assault, utilising tanks for the first time.
  • 1852: Sas begins construction of the first nuclear power plant in Langenthal City. Tekkea becomes aware of this later the same year and begins infiltration ops to hinder its process. Sas poses another ultimatum, threatening with war if it happens again. It happens again.

In order to set up a stronger defence against any eventual invasions from Radosis, Shizoku Yōkama and Nishi-Shōkoma establish the Tekkea Dōmei; a sort of military alliance between the clans with the appearance of a full union. Over time, however, it would solidify into what was effectively one nation.

Ancient history

Because no recorded history before 0 exists, one can only speculate as to what the world may have looked like before. However, writings in the Book of Mist indicate a divine civilisation existing prior, and speak of a mysterious event known as The Cataclysm. The source of magic is supposedly rooted in this ancient divine civilisation. The ancient world may have looked completely different to our currently known world and could have had a link to the Godrealms mentioned in Genus Reditus. The word "world" in Gammeltunge means "Fleeting, fluctuating". This may also explain the illogical tectonic structure of our world that has puzzled geologists for ages.

This group would become referred to as Divine.

The Cataclysm
