The idyllic landscape of Summerset. Hardly any traces from a previous city exists still.

Summerset was a city located north of Gruvania. Its peak population was 26 during the mayorship of Borisdotpercy. In 2015, after two fatal events, the city was razed completely to the ground and replaced with farmlands. Summerset was resurrected as New Summerset, a prosperous city north of Summerset's idyllic lands.

History

There has been said to be people living in Summerset since the 1337 invasion of Ihazon, but very few traces have been found. If any, the previous population would have disappeared long ago.

The modern population of Summerset traces back to the early 1900s. Ihazon was experiencing a growth never seen before, and the city of Summerset naturally evolved as people found new spaces to live. Summerset is a very fertile area and it served well for an agricultural city well fed with food.

Unfortunately, modern expansion of Summerset sacrificed large areas of farmland. Over what was once fields and pastures grew asphalt roads and concrete buildings. Only a few farms remained, most noticeably Summersetsbury, which was very centrally located for a long time.

During the presidency of Metteliten, the mayor of Summerset was Borisdotpercy. His rise to power was built on a promise to carry out ambitious and much needed changes to Summerset. During his mayorship, Summerset saw an economic growth as newfound businesses were incentivized to settle with state subsidies. In addition, Borisdotpercy focused on establishing a solid connection between Summerset and Slouthceister, which had already become a significant industrial area.

In 2015, however, Borisdotpercy passed away from a rapid growth of cancer. The city administration had currently been under reconstruction, and chaos emerged as to who would take over as new mayor.
Before a decision could be reached, Ihazon would see the most tragic plane accident in modern time occur. A fully boarded passenger plane was hijacked by armed terrorists and crashed in Summersetsbury's barn. It was discovered that former President, Metteliten, was a passenger on-board. All passengers died, but no cows were seriously injured.
In light of this plane crash, Ihazon would pass the Aerial Self-Defence Act, encouraging passengers to carry weapons on-board all forms of passenger transport.

With the loss of two of the greatest people in Ihazon, renowned businesshorse HyperDuck became part of a committee to rebuild Summerset's administration. He was given temporary emergency powers, which he would give up as soon as they could arrange a new election. However, few people could predict that his first action as mayor was to raze Summerset to the ground to allow for much needed lost farmland. The controversial action shocked Setters and other Ihazonans alike, but HyperDuck presented a detailed plan for a new city just north of Summerset. Within just a week, HyperDuck managed to negotiate funding from the Parliament to give state grants to all citizens (with previous Summerset citizens given signficiantly more) and businesses that established themselves in the new city within one year. This new city would become New Summerset, which is today Ihazon's second largest city.
