Assecula de Genus (A.R.: 'Followers of the kin'), whose followers are referred to as Assecula in Radosis, Assecura in Tekkea and Asseculs everywhere else, is a major polytheistic religion with large followings in Radosis, Tekkea and Ihazon.
Belief
While Asseculs share with Redits the book of Genus as their holy text, and many of the teachings within, the faith differs from its sister religion in a few distinct ways:
- While Redits are convinced of the demigods having left Surface only to return in a violent day of reckoning in the future, where those who have mastered all domains of life will be reborn as gods; Asseculs believe the demigods never left Surface, and instead are watching over Mankind from among them. They believe that once one has mastered oneself, the demigods will grant them godhood on their next birth.
- Unlike Redits form of reincarnation exclusively tied to bloodline, Asseculs believe one's soul can be reborn anywhere. This has made them more focused on bettering themselves not to pass on their bloodline, but in hopes to better the life of the next body to inhabit their soul.
- Where Redits show little concern to discern the deities behind each domain, Asseculs idolise and worship the deities themselves and not just the domains they represent. Each deity has a name, personality and face attached to them; this has made worship of them more of a personal part of one's life.
Influence outside Radosis
Many of the beliefs of Asseculs have hit off well outside of Radosis. In eastern parts of Tekkea in particular, Assecula de Genus is the predominant religion. Their influence has also been felt in the north; many Devouts have adopted parts of the Assecula de Genus faith. These have been referred to as Devout Asseculs.
