Ihazon RailwAy Transport Empire (abbreviated IRATE), previously known as Ihazon RailRoads (IRR), is a railway company based in Ihazon that services all of the Thoirazon region.
History
IRR was founded in 1908 with the express purpose of constructing an industrial rail line between Slouthceister and Langenthal. The line was opened in 1910, with NS Yard becoming the country's major freight hub for its nearby harbour. This would mark the beginning of a prosperous rail age in Ihazon. In 1916, Langenthal Steelworks would become the first major steel mill in Ihazon. To provide it with iron and coal, IRR constructed rail lines to the Rabbit Valley Mining sites in Gruvania.
The railway system would continue to be used exclusively for freight until 1946, when The Parliament passed a passenger rail subsidiary bill. IRR would then construct Central Station as their main passenger hub and expand its ail system to include line connections to Summerset and Tinville. With the shift in focus, the company changed its name to IRATE, which it is known as today.
In 1965, they would connect Serland after Serland Aluminium constructs the country's first aluminium mill there. The company had since long shifted most of its focus to passenger transport, but still had interest in maintaining the freight network. Only a few years later, in 1969, IRATE would create a subsidiary dedicated to freight operation, taking the name of Freight Rail, which operated on IRATE's rail network. By 2015, when IRATE demolished the Summerset station and opened Nortsham Terminal in New Summerset, IRATE had long since relinquished all its freight engines to Freight Rail, but a lot of the rolling stock still was marked with IRATE or IRR.
In 2018, Lesko would buy up 70% of Freight Rail and rename the company Lesko Freyt Reyl, a subsidiary of Lesko Freyt Survixs.
