Central Station, usually referred to as Central and previously known as Terminal Station, is a major railway station in Langenthal, Ihazon. It serves as the largest transportation hub in Ihazon, as it connects by both tram, monorail and bus, but also because of its direct connection and proximity to LIX.
History
As the oldest railway station in the country, it has seen major changes throughout the times. In 2011 it was expanded to the 6 platform structure it has today. Up until 2017, it was named Terminal Station as it was a terminus, but the reconstruction allowed for tracks to continue underground west of Langenthal. This connection serves primarily freight trains, and for passenger traffic most lines do in fact terminate here.
Connections
As LIX is located directly next to it, the two transport facilities have always had a very close partnership. In fact, the reconstruction took place more or less around the same time, and did careful work to connect the two facilities into one seamless transport hub, serving all connections in Ihazon.
Since 2017 IRATE has been operating dedicated high speed trains to serve as a direct connection to and from New Summerset, in order to make international travel more accessible. Express lines to Tinville have been in operation since 2011.
