Race

Race, also referred to as ethnicity, is a categorisation of Mankind to differentiate various mental and physical attributes as well as cultural ones. Due to the inherent differences between races, albeit they may not be large, a way to categorise has been felt necessary by many. Many take pride in their race's culture and heritage, while others distance themselves from it.

Some confuse the word 'race' with 'species'. The general difference is that all races can safely produce offspring together, while species cannot. This is generally true.
There is however made a distinction between races that are humanoid in origin, and races that are not. Humanoid races share a lot of similarities and may inhabit many of the same features. Non-humanoid races are more similar to animals, and may originate therefrom, but are sentient on the same level as other humanoids and often more human-like in appearance than animals. Intercourse across non-humanoid races may not be be able to produce offspring. This is because their biology and genealogy can greatly vary from humanoid races, who are all very similar, gene-wise. As a result, there have been a few hybrid races caused by this.

Mapping races is a continuous process, as some are very common and others exceedingly rare. Because of this, races are often attributed a conservation status.

Humanoid races

• Human, the most common humanoid race with no defining features
• Dwarf, a small and bulky race, known for high strength
• Elf, a tall race with long ears, known for high dexterity, high magic affinity and long lifespans
• Divine, a tall, frail and winged race, consisting mostly of females, known for very high magic affinity and extremely long lifespans
• Vampire, a pale-skinned Elf-like race with noticeable fangs, dependant on blood for sustenance
• Pigman, a very large pig-like race with extreme physical strength, consisting mostly of males, otherwise similar to humans
• Fae, a rare short and winged Elf-like race of which little is known
• Daemon, a rare scaly and winged race, possessing incredible strength and very long lifespans
• Succubus/Incubus, a smaller demonic race, infamous for their seductive prowess and life-leeching

Non-humanoid races

• Equine, a horse-like race with great similarity to horses, known for high intelligence
• Catling, a very small cat-like race with high intelligence and magic affinity
• Ratling, a small rat-like race with exceptional night-vision and adaptability

• Centaur, half-Equine, half-Humanoid
• Halfcat, half-Catling, half-Humanoid
• Halfrat, half-Ratling, half-Humanoid

Speculated races

• Demigod, supposedly a godly race out of this world and ancestors of Divine. Suggested to be the mortal descendants of Celeste
• Celeste, supposed inhabitants of the Godrealms, a nigh-omnipotent race of gods. Speculated to be tall and without need of wings to fly
• Cosmic, a hypothetical creature said to be the cosmos itself, whose concept hail from conspiracy theorists. Would likely be an entirely different species
