The term ''key'' was offially implented at Tog SMP. The idea of it was that money is a key to most things, thus making the word "key" suitable for a currency. The first key was physically, taking base in minerals. 1 iron ingot was worth 1 key, and that made the fundament of the everlasting currency. Key was long used physically, until the iConomy plugin was installed. Key was now measured virtually, which made it more user-friendly.
Key was used during the entire lifetime of Tog SAS, from the beginning to the end. It based itself on Tog SMP and thus its value was still set to an iron standard. Unlike Tog SMP, the survival focus caused business between players to strive, making the value of the Key change drastically over time as business owners competed for the lowest prices. Due to iron becoming abundant, Key value deflated heavily. The value of one iron ingot halved itself several times, until it reached its bottom point of 0.1 Key. Prices at this point were getting so low that the economy plugin had difficulties dealing with the amount of decimal numbers needed. The wealth of business owners on the other hand grew enormously and with it grew purchases, with the most expensive transaction being at an astonishing 600 Key for a rave club; the value of 6000 iron ingots. Property prices have seemingly been the only value that has inflated over time, as most properties were not worth more than 4-6 Key in the beginning.

Key is most known from Tog SAS, as it was the currency used from the start and is still used. It was based on the key from the previous Tog SMP, and originally used the same prices. However, the value debilitated over time. This started when the first businesses were established. The shop owners mindlessy set the prices fairly low, and kept lowering them as new businesses entered the market. This made the original prices obsolete, and they were gradually lowered. The iron ingot price, which always had been 1 key, was first lowered to 0.5 key, simultaneously with all other prices, and later got decreased to 0.25 key, 0.2 key and down to 0.1 key, the current price. When Bogdan12spore began purchasing properties he also lowered the prices of minerals, making the prices so low, people experienced trouble with the virtual money system not being able to handle all the decimals.
Due to Tog Creative being a continuation of Tog SMP, keeping the currency was a sensible choice. The value of the Key was however this time not set in any standard. Properties were set to sell for 400-2000 Key, unlike the much lower numbers of Tog SAS, but despite there not being a competitive survival-based economy to compete for prices, value of the Key did deflate over time. The start amount of money was set to 16 key. A 16x16 lot costed 4 key, a flat 6 key and a business 10 key. The lot size was later increased to 16x24 though keeping the same price. The business life started by Bogdan12spore's investments used big amounts of money. A floor at the office building was 10 key, with companies often buying several floors. Later, the rave club was sold with an astonishing 600 key price tag.

At Mettie creative key was used again. However, this time the value was increased. People started with 1000 key, unlike Tog SAS, where the start amount was 16 key. At this server money has less direct impact on players. With the NPC system money is used in a way mostly unaffecting players.

The start amount is at 1000 key. A flat varies from 400-800 key, residents from 800-2000 key, and companies at several thousands. Most companies need a start capital of 5000 key at least.

Tog SMP
