National Cathedral is a massive Gothic-styled cathedral built with sandstone in New Summerset, expected to be the largest building on the Surface upon its completion. It is owned and administrated by the Church of Langenthal, and is already operational and used to a large extent. It aims to become the central hub of the Church: widening accessibility of the Church to the people, offering an institution to study history and lore, and to serve as the headquarters of the anti-satanist movement.

Behind the cathedral is the New Summerset Cemetery, which also holds the entrance to Catacombs of Cathedrals. Archbishop Francois De Gournay, leader of the Church, has his office in the cathedral and is the administrative leader of the institution.

Construction

Construction began originally in Langenthal in 2013. After an agreement with mayor of New Summerset, HyperDuck, it was decided to move the site to the new city. The site was picked directly in front of Park. Work on the cathedral started picking up pace in 2017, when most of the exterior started to take place. Early 2018 it was deemed operational, and masses could finally happen. Most of the administrative parts are still under construction, as well as the central cross-section dome. In 2018, the building cost had risen to K 2,200,000.

No one knows how this shit is funded though.
